Day 7, Rest Day in Oro Valley (Tucson)

We enjoyed the beautiful desert home of Craig and Becky Williams, who were also our guides to Sabino Valley and a local Tucson Peruvian restaurant. But first, I had a two hour laundry visit in Tucson so I could wash 6 sets of bicycle clothes and most of my street clothing. This is a necessity on a seven week cross country tour.

Since this is Rest Day, we gladly took a 3.5 mile uphill shuttle ride at Sabino Valley National Park. Normally I would never take a shuttle and miss a nice uphill hike, but after six days of riding, our legs needed the rest, so instead we got off the shuttle at the top, and causally strolled down to give ourselves a reasonable therapeutic walk and take in amazing scenery of this park.
