The highlight was a 8 mile stretch that RidewithGPS, our routing planning tool, told us was all pavement, but we could not have found a worse mud road in the entire state of Arizonia. A local told us afterwards that they had a huge rainstorm after no rain in 260 days. We also had a late start due to a battery charging issue of the one of our bicycles electronic shifting system, and one tubeless tire leak that caused further delays, so we ended in the dark.
Again we were on and off I8 with some very rough alternate road surfaces. The lesson of the day is we had to be saved by our SAG Super Support Team, Carol and Julie.
